The New York Giants are currently struggling to find their way forward.
Starting quarterback Daniel Jones was not only benched but also recently released by the franchise after playing nearly six seasons in the Big Apple.
Now with a record of 3-8, head coach Brian Daboll spoke to the New York media on Friday about Jones’s release.
According to insider Pat Leonard, Daboll admitted that the team did not expect to cut him when they shut him down.

There is no doubt that this organization is one of the worst in the league at this point.
They have not won a playoff game since 2011 and reached the playoffs just once in the last seven seasons.
It just hasn’t gone well since the days of Tom Coughlin and Eli Manning.
The Daniel Jones era in New York ended with Jones taking the Giants to the playoffs once in six years.
Jones played zero full seasons, had no 4,000-yard passing seasons, and had just one season where he compiled a passer rating over 90.0.
After taking over for Eli Manning, his tenure seems to have failed on multiple levels.
Now, the Giants will search for a new franchise quarterback once the offseason begins.
That is unless backups Tommy DeVito or Drew Lock show up and magically bring this team back to relevance in the second half of the season.
Head coach Brian Daboll could also be coaching for his job down the stretch.
