In the history of popular sitcoms, Two and a Half Men will surely have a top spot with Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer leading the way. But apart from the stellar ensemble, creator Chuck Lorre also strategically brought in another aspect of the show that quickly grabbed the interest of the audience. The special element is the intro of the show which presents Sheen, Cryer, and Angus T. Jones lip-syncing the song Manly Men.

Just like many others, one user posted the same on Reddit adding just how much they love the theme song of the show. And it’s safe to say that they’re not alone in this.

Two and a Half Men’s Theme Song Is a Fan Favorite for All the Right Reasons

Charlie Sheen brought Charlie Harper to life in Two and a Half Men and ruled the CBS screens for almost eight seasons. While a lot of drama went down before his firing from the show, he did play an important role in the sitcom’s popularity. Moreover, apart from his acting chops, the theme song of the sitcom which presents the catchy tune Manly Men also became widely popular.

So, much so that one user posted his love for the song as well as the cast on Reddit.

I cannot stress enough how much I love this intro. Sigh… I miss these iconic three protagonists.

There are a lot of facts behind the filming of the song, the most pivotal of them being that Sheen, Jon Cryer, and Angus T. Jones were lip-syncing the lyrics. Interestingly, this song was sung by studio musicians and voice actress Elizabeth Daily, famous for her stint in The Powerpuff Girls, stood in for Jake’s part in the song.

Throughout the show, certain tweaks were made to the intro in order to showcase the ever-changing looks of Jake as he grew up. After Sheen’s firing another intro was shot this time featuring actor Ashton Kutcher. Chuck Lorre was also deeply involved in the entire process of the song and wrote it alongside co-creator Lee Aronsohn and composer Grant Geissman.

Not only that but Geissman was also involved in playing all the piano scenes in the sitcom as well as all the jingles that Charlie Harper sang in the sitcom. The Manly Men theme song has also been parodied a number of times, the most famous of which is by comedian and YouTuber Bart Baker.

While the show ended all the way back in 2015, fans still love watching the show as well as listening to its quirky theme song.

Things were quite rough between Charlie Sheen and Chuck Lorre for more than a decade after the actor went on a full-blown rant against the showrunner. While he was eventually fired from Two and a Half Men because of this his relationship with Lorre was also damaged to a great extent.

This dynamic started to change when the showrunner reached out to him for a part in his show Bookie in 2023. Sheen himself was quite remorseful for the things he said about Lorre and the duo mended their broken ties. The actor not only played the fictionalized version of himself in the show but is also back for its second season now.

Season 2 of the show is all set to premiere on December 24, and in the teaser for the same, fans quickly spotted Sheen making an appearance.

You can watch all the seasons of Two and a Half Men on Peacock.
