Former Manchester United interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy may not be out of a job for long following his exit from the club, with pressure reportedly building on another Premier League manager.

Van Nistelrooy took charge of four games at United before the official appointment of Ruben Amorim as new head coach. Of those four matches, the Reds won three games and drew one with the Dutchman praised for the job he did.

Despite that, Amorim made the decision to let Van Nistelrooy, who arrived in the summer as assistant manager to Erik ten Hag, go. It leaves the former striker on the search for a new job.

He was linked with the vacant managerial position with Championship side Coventry City. However, it seems that Frank Lampard is the driving seat for that particular job.

Reports this week claimed that Van Nistelrooy is hopeful of landing a permanent managerial position in the Premier League. The 48-year-old had success in his stint as manager of PSV Eindhoven, winning the Dutch Cup in his one season in charge.

One potential opportunity could come up soon. The Daily Mail’s Tom Collomosse reports that Wolves’ boss Gary O’Neill is ‘under pressure’ after a disappointing start to the season.

He adds that ‘tentative conversations’ have been had about possible replacements, although no specific names have been mentioned. Wolves take on Fulham on Saturday before hosting Bournemouth at Molineux a week later.

They then face what could be crucial games against Everton and West Ham. Both teams are in and around the bottom part of the table.

Should Wolves not pick up points, then a change could potentially be made. It gives van Nistelrooy the opportunity to throw his hat in the ring.

If he does join Wolves, then he could be in line for a quick reunion with United. Amorim takes his team to Molineux for the Premier League clash at Molineux.

Reports last weekend lso claimed that Van Nistelrooy could be considered by Leicester City if they decide to part ways with Steve Cooper. Pressure is growing on the Welshman with Leicester currently three points clear of the relegation zone, it is however claimed that he has until the end of the year to improve Leicester’s current form.
