Conor McGregor isn’t shying away from speaking against the recent civil court verdict, which found him guilty of sexually assaulting Nikita Hand back in 2018. After initially being denied pursuing a criminal case against the MMA fighter by the DPP, the Dublin-based hairdresser opted to file a civil suit, whose verdict has now held McGregor accountable.
The UFC fighter, who has been ordered to pay Hand $257,000 in damages, took to X to express his distaste for the verdict. But it isn’t the actor’s defense that has garnered traction but its structure.
Conor McGregor’s Alleges Major Holes in the Verdict
In the aftermath of the court verdict, in a now-deleted X post, Conor McGregor stressed that he’ll be appealing the jury’s decision, and shared his disappointment with the verdict, adding (via The New York Times) “I am disappointed that the jury did not hear all the evidence that the DPP reviewed”. But McGregor wasn’t the lone person involved in the case, as his fellow MMA peer James Lawrence was also accused of sexually assaulting Nikita Hand.
However, unlike McGregor, who previously alleged that the s-xual intercourse between them was consensual, Lawrence was found not guilty. In response to the verdict, Lawrence called out Hand and accused her of “lieing”, throughout the “hole” case in his IG story. McGregor, who has displayed support towards his fellow MMA peer and alleged that everyone present in the 2018 party is aware of the truth, took to his X to repost Lawrence’s IG story, which read:
To anyone saying poor or brave Nikita this woman is an absolute disgrace and a slap in the face to any girl that did ever go threw this for REAL. She lied nonstop through the hole case and was caught straight up lieing multiple times.
While it can’t be said for certain whether Lawrence’s accusations against Hand have any merit or not, the overwhelming spelling errors certainly don’t help his case.
Conor mate, the spelling 😅

1) sort your spelling.
2) You have a partner. You cheated. You’re no man.
3) A court ruled against you. Deal with it.— Ian (@therugbycoach10) November 23, 2024

With McGregor adamant about appealing the guilty verdict, only time will tell what lies ahead for the Road House star.
Joe Rogan Weighs on Conor McGregor’s Descent in MMA
As for McGregor’s MMA career, Joe Rogan recently shed light on the instance, that aggravated the UFC fighter’s descent into darkness.
Elaborating on it, Rogan claimed (via JRE) that his infamous money fight with Floyd Mayweather in 2017 kickstarted his downfall, adding “he’s just not been the same guy since”.
Conor self-destructed in a lot of ways because of money, He took that fight with Floyd Mayweather, made a ton of money off that, and then took a long time before he came back to MMA—and he’s just not been the same guy since. I think that’s just money, it’s a lot of partying, but it’s the same kind of thing. It’s just wild. But when Conor was in his prime, he was a f***ing assassin.
On the flip side, Nikita Hand expressed her gratitude to her supporters and thanked her family and daughter, and the single mother urged everyone to stand up for themselves, no matter who is on the other side.
