The New York Jets entered this season with Super Bowl aspirations, but things have gone about as poorly as anyone could have imagined, and they are now 3-8.
The team has already fired former head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas, and quarterback Aaron Rodgers could be the next domino to fall.
His future was called into question this week thanks to an article written by The Athletic’s Dianna Russini.
The article mentioned the possibility of him being benched or placed on injured reserve while also saying he wants to play elsewhere next year.
The internet, of course, jumped to conclusions and had plenty of fun predicting where Rodgers would play in 2025.
They all want to see Rodgers follow the same trajectory as former Green Bay Packers and New York Jets legend Brett Favre.
The path has never been more clear for Aaron Rodgers to join the Vikings…
But the question is…JJ McCarthy or the 4 time MVP!? #skol pic.twitter.com/253TrE6XUX

Jokes aside, Aaron Rodgers to the Vikings next year makes a ton of sense.

We are way closer to Aaron Rodgers the Minnesota Viking than I think people realize. The scenario is actually crazy possible.
JJ McCarthy is the Vikings future QB, but he just had to have a second surgery on his knee… not ideal and he would be inheriting a very good team as a…

Rodgers is going to be a Viking in 2025. It’s destiny at this point.

Rodgers landing with the Minnesota Vikings next season would be eerily similar to Favre’s career path, but it does make plenty of sense.
The Vikings are having a great year with Sam Darnold under center as the stopgap solution until rookie first-round pick J.J. McCarthy is ready.
Still, after a second knee surgery, McCarthy’s status for next year cannot be considered stable.
The team might need another short-term solution next season, and Rodgers would make plenty of sense if Darnold leaves to sign a longer-term deal elsewhere.
Rodgers’ future is completely up in the air, but staying with the Jets is still possible since almost all of this has come from just one article.
The next chapter in this story is sure to be an interesting one.
