The New York Giants shocked the NFL world this week by cutting quarterback Daniel Jones just days after announcing he was benched for Tommy DeVito and eating $22 million of dead cap money next year in the process.
He has only been on waivers for a few days.
Still, after he most likely clears, five or so teams are already reportedly eyeing Jones as a potential free agent, which is surprising to many fans who don’t see him as a viable quarterback option in this league.
Former New England Patriots Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman revealed why Jones is in high demand in a recent episode of his podcast, ‘Games With Names,’ alongside his guest, LeSean McCoy.
He said he heard from a player who played with both Jones and Josh Allen who said Jones is more accurate as a passer than Allen.

McCoy said that should be the last conversation he has with that person about football, and he should instead stick to simple topics, such as restaurant recommendations.
Accuracy was supposed to be Allen’s weakness when he entered the league, but he has clearly improved in that department, while Jones’ decision-making and inconsistency led to his current situation.
Jones has shown some enticing tools, and a team will take a shot at him to see if they can mold him into the QB he was drafted to be.
It’s a bold take, but maybe Jones will prove Edelman’s friend correct after he signs elsewhere.
