Re:Zero’s Subtle Storytelling is One of the Biggest Reasons Why Fans are Furious Dandadan Overtook Season 3

Re:Zero is all the rage and for the right reasons. From well-written characters to plot development, it is a complete banger. But what sets it apart from other series in the Isekai genre is its compelling themes.

The series unpacks some dark and disturbing themes along with friendship and camaraderie. While the anime outlines death and loss, it has its fair share of iconic and heartfelt moments. This is especially true with the recent episode.

With its latest episode, most fans couldn’t help but point to a heartwarming detail. The episode outlined the series’ brilliance and refinement in terms of its writing. It also contrasts with Yukinobu Tatsu’s series which is set to dethrone its contemporaries.

Re:Zero lauded for its storytelling by fans on X

Re:Zero is based on the light novel series of the same name by Tappei Nagatsuki. The series first premiered in 2016 and gained traction for its visuals and unconventional storyline. It is also one of the most popular series in the Isekai genre.

What makes it special is its spotlighting the side characters. This is something that the most popular series cannot address. Most importantly, it has a diverse range of characters that adds to its excellence.

With its third season, White Fox has taken the anime up a notch. Be it side characters or their development, the series doesn’t fail to impress. The writing, coupled with the studio’s impeccable animation, reigns supreme.

The latest episode is proof of the literary brilliance of Nagatsuki san. Apart from side characters, it highlighted endearing moments between Subaru and Reinhard.

Most fans on X couldn’t help but express their delight at the recent episode.

While the episode highlighted an endearing moment between Subaru and Reinhard, its brilliance remains overshadowed nonetheless. This holds especially true with the rising popularity of Dandadan and other series.

Dandadan dethroned its competitors in popularity

Dandadan is a cultural phenomenon in more ways than one. Be it TikTok or cosplays, the anime is a rager. It owes its cult status to its rising popularity and viewership.

This majorly has to do with both the manga and the anime. But what peaked it was how well the series is done. The manga gained a wide fanbase with its initial release. With the anime’s premiere, though, things changed drastically.

Since its first episode, the series has continued to gain traction and viewership. With its recent episode, most fans praised it to the point of deeming it Anime of The Year. And while comparisons are made, one thing is certain.

Both anime are excellent in their respective genres. It is natural for Dandadan’s popularity to overshadow its contemporaries. That, however, doesn’t devalue Re:Zero and its finesse as an unconventional Isekai series.

Re:Zero and Dandadan are available for streaming on Crunchyroll. The manga is available for reading on Viz Media.
