The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs came into the 2024 NFL regular season with high hopes of making league history as the first team to win three straight Super Bowl titles.
After 11 games played, the defending champions have won 10 times, which is impressive, to say the least, considering how they’ve won these games and the injuries they’ve had to get through in the process, especially at wide receiver and running back.
On Sunday, the Chiefs were surprisingly put to the test against the lowly Carolina Panthers, who took Kansas City down to the wire, forcing Patrick Mahomes and company to take a last-second field goal to win the game with time expiring in the fourth quarter.
As a result of the Chiefs hitting the game-winning field goal, Kansas City officially won their 10th game of the year, which makes it a decade straight of double-digit wins for veteran head coach Andy Reid, according to the team’s X account.

With the Chiefs continuing to win games, with the exception being against the rival Buffalo Bills last week in New York, Kansas City is in a great position to clinch one of the top seeds in the AFC, setting up another deep run in the NFL playoffs.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Chiefs can keep up this momentum and keep their hopes of winning a third straight title alive.
As long as Mahomes can stay healthy, Kansas City will be a serious threat in the AFC and perhaps the team to beat in the postseason.
