The San Francisco 49ers entered the season as a clear-cut Super Bowl contender.
They were pretty close to hoisting the Vince Lombardi trophy just last season, and they returned most of their core of stars.
Unfortunately, injuries haven’t allowed them to be at their best this season.
Most of their stars are aging, injury-prone, and making a lot of money.
That’s why Colin Cowherd believes they should just hit the drawing board again.
Talking to John Middlekauff for his podcast, Cowherd argued that the Niners should do an aggressive reboot.

He believes they must stop drafting skill players and focus on revamping their offensive and defensive lines, as their players are old and banged up.
This makes sense, but it’s not an easy decision, especially considering the amount of money they’ve already committed to this roster.
But, as Cowherd and Middlekauff pointed out in the video, the Niners might be better off not winning another game this season to ensure a high draft pick.
There have also been some rumblings about whether the team has fallen out of love with Brock Purdy, and his impending contract extension also looms large.
The Niners have been one of the league’s most disappointing teams this season, and the next weeks or months will be pivotal to their future.
