Once considered to be the next big thing in the National Football League, Trevor Lawrence has fallen from grace.
He had a promising first year under Doug Pederson, but like his team, he couldn’t sustain that strong momentum.
Now, with the Jacksonville Jaguars’ league-worst record of 2-9, Lawrence has been forced to watch from the sidelines as he nurses an injury.
Notably, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that Lawrence could be inching closer to a return.
Per Coach Pederson, Lawrence will practice on Monday, and the team will decide later in the week about his availability for Sunday’s divisional matchup with the Houston Texans.
#Jaguars coach Doug Pederson told reporters that QB Trevor Lawrence will practice today and the team will make a decision later in the week about his availability.

The former No. 1 pick has missed the past two games with an AC joint injury in his left (non-throwing) shoulder.
Former New England Patriots first-rounder Mac Jones has filled in for him in the meantime, but he hasn’t exactly done much to put pressure on him with his performances.
With the playoffs likely out of reach, there’s no point in rushing Lawrence back to the field.
In nine games this season, Lawrence has completed roughly 61% of his passes for 2,004 yards, eleven touchdowns, and six interceptions.
He’s still young, but judging by what we’ve seen, he’ll have a tough time living up to the hype and expectations.
