Even That May Not be Enough to Beat Him

Solo Leveling was one of the biggest animated spectacles this year, beautifully adapting the Webtoon into a fantastical spectacle, raising several fans’ expectations for the upcoming prequel. The manhwa blends violence with humor, offering funny reactions and comic relief, a balance fans really appreciate.

Amid the hype for Season 2, Crunchyroll’s most sensational anime of the year, Solo Leveling, will finally hit theaters this winter with its new film, Solo Leveling: ReAwakening. Though Solo Leveling stars a supremely powerful main character, it chiefly avoids many issues that typically arise from this narrative trope. By the end of the series, it’s undeniable that Sung Jin-woo stands as the strongest hunter in the world.

Among his numerous abilities, his shadow army is his greatest asset—a force so powerful it could dominate the entire world if he wished. This leaves fans curious: could Jin-woo hold his own without their aid, or worse, survive if they ever turned against him?

Solo Leveling: Could Sung Jin-woo Triumph Over His Own Shadow Army Alone?

From the start, Solo Leveling stayed focused on never undermining the MC, always portraying him as incredibly cool. One of the most broken abilities, Sung Jin-woo gains later in the story, is his necromancer abilities.

His Shadow Army was one of his most overwhelming and feared abilities, with each member far surpassing the strength of an average hunter.

Commanding over 10 million comrades, one might wonder if Sung Jin-woo could defeat them all if he ever lost control of his Shadow Army. The outcome would be the same, as Sung Jin-woo’s Shadow Army grew stronger in tandem with his own strength and remained fiercely loyal to him

By the time Sung Jin-woo commanded over 10 million shadows, he had fully inherited the powers of the Shadow Monarch, Ashborn. Song Jin-woo is immune to any disease, illness, or poison, making him an unmatched hunter in the story.

Though the Shadow Army appears to be our protagonist’s biggest challenge, they pale in comparison to the Monarchs, the only truly formidable opponents Sung Jin-woo ever faced.

When Sung Jin-woo first gained the ability to extract shadows, he could only preserve 20. But as his mana level rose, his storage of shadows increased until he gained Ashborn’s remaining army. With this army, Sung Jin-woo commanded over 100,000 shadows.

Upon using the Cup of Reincarnation and concluding the war with the Monarchs, his army expanded to an astonishing 10 million shadows—undoubtedly one of the most unforgettable moments for any manhwa reader.

The manhwa readers can rejoice as A-1 Pictures has confirmed Season 2’s premiere in January 2025, leaving fans anticipating. Solo Leveling‘s success in the anime world shows that manhwa, like manga, boasts compelling storylines and characters that, when adapted into anime, captivate fans and drive popularity.

Solo Leveling Season 2 Trailer Sets New Records, Fueling Excitement for 2025

Solo Leveling is known for its thrilling, fast-paced battles against the strange enemies that have appeared on Earth. With Season 1 garnering a huge fanbase, several fans have been curious about what to expect from the second season.

Though it has only been out for a few days, the Season 2 trailer has already outperformed the Season 1 trailer, showcasing the series’ significant impact and popularity.

While anime fans are celebrating with enthusiasm, the same can’t be said for the manhwa readers. The manhwa has garnered an immense reputation over the years; thus, the anime not living up to manhwa’s legacy did upset a lot of readers.

Additionally, the recent trailer surpassing its predecessor confirms that fans have lost faith in anime adaptations and no longer expect the production studio to match the manhwa’s legacy.

Solo Leveling manhwa can be read on Webtoons, while the anime is available to watch on Crunchyroll
