After a somewhat promising first half of the 2024 NFL season, the Chicago Bears were thought to be a threat in the NFC this year, as rookie quarterback Caleb Williams showed he might be able to live up to the high expectations he was given as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Unfortunately for Chicago, the team hasn’t been able to recover from a gut-wrenching loss to fellow rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders a few weeks ago, as the Bears lost as a result of a hail mary touchdown in the final seconds of the game.
Since then, the Bears have lost every game they’ve played and seem to be headed in the wrong direction, as it seems likely Chicago will miss the NFL playoffs and may need to make some drastic changes in the offseason to get back on track.
However, on Sunday, the Bears gave the division-rival Minnesota Vikings all they could handle, forcing them to overtime, with Williams playing at a high level from start to finish.
Despite the inspired performance by Williams, the Bears lost in overtime and an interesting thing happened on the field with head coach Kevin O’Connell sharing a moment with the rookie quarterback.

Of course, with all this being caught on camera, the fans chimed in with their thoughts on what O’Connell may have said to Williams:
Hey Kid, you are amazing, but your coach is awful. Hang in there.

KOC seems to show respect & have some words for the other QBs often (especially young ones). These young guys need that once ina while.

Although Williams’ rookie season hasn’t gone as planned, as it seems the Bears will limp to the finish line this year, there’s no doubt he has a lot of potential to be a star in the NFL and the answer for Chicago at the quarterback position.
Only time will tell if Williams turns out to be the real deal and can become the superstar that many believe he will become in the near future.
