Black Friday may not technically be for another few days, but like many retailers, Fanatical has kicked off its sale a bit early – and there are already some out-of-this-world deals on offer. Right now, you can pick up Bethesda’s galactic RPG Starfield for its lowest price ever, thanks to a huge 47% discount on the Standard edition.
Starfield is one of the biggest and best RPGs (both in size and buzz) of the last few years. Released in September last year, Bethesda’s space adventure sees you travelling the galaxy in search of mysterious artifacts for Constellation, a renowned group of explorers. Like any good RPG, however, this isn’t just a linear adventure. You’re constantly lured off the beaten path to explore new planets across the vast galaxy, help needy NPCs, and romance your Constellation companions. While Starfield offers one heck of an adventure – and hours of content – it did receive a somewhat mixed reception at launch.
In our Starfield review, Nat Smith highlighted that Starfield doesn’t quite push the RPG genre as much as contemporaries like Baldur’s Gate 3, calling it “a jack of all mechanics but a master of none.” I have to agree, but that doesn’t mean Starfield is a bad game. I agree it’s a “behemoth” of an adventure that’s worth at least trying if you’re a fan of Bethesda’s previous work or RPGs generally.
That’s why Fanatical’s discount is so good. If you’ve been on the fence about picking up Starfield – or itching for it to drop in price – you can pick it up for almost half price right now.
