With the worst record in the NBA, the Washington Wizards don’t have a lot to be excited about right now.

Because of their place in the standings, the Wizards are assumed to commit to big changes in the months ahead so they can lay the groundwork for a promising future.

According to Evan Sidery, Jonas Valanciunas of the Wizards is viewed as “one of the most likely players to be moved, once newly signed free agents become trade-eligible on December 15th.”

He wrote:

“Various title-contending teams have begun to gauge the value on Valanciunas as his minutes continue to dwindle on the Wizards.”

Valanciunas is putting up 11.9 points and 7.9 rebounds per game for the Wizards.

That is a dip down from last year when he was with the New Orleans Pelicans, and he’s also playing less.

Last season, Valanciunas averaged 23.5 minutes per game compared to his 19.9 for this season.

Additionally, he has only started in two games this season, while he started in all for the Pelicans last year.

It’s clear the Wizards wouldn’t miss Valanciunas too much if they parted ways with him.

Plus, they could get something special in return for him, which would help them in the future.

Now the question is which team will work hardest to get Valanciunas.

He has been tied to multiple teams, most notably the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Wizards are in a good position where they can be picky and only commit to a trade they are really happy with.

So, teams wanting Valanciunas will have to offer something substantial in order to intrigue them.
