There Will Be a ‘Major Meeting’ Regarding Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Security After Break-In, Detective Says

Royal family

News broke recently that Windsor Castle was broken into only five minutes from Prince William and Kate Middleton’s home. Now, an expert is speaking on the situation.

Back in 2022, Prince William and Kate Middleton traded in their limelight lives over at Kensington Palace for a quieter, more peaceful lifestyle on the grounds of Windsor Castle. The pair moved into Adelaide Cottage with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Since then, they seem to have enjoyed being a little more remote.

However, all that might have just changed; the Windsor Castle grounds were broken into in 2024, and that could leave William and Kate fearing for their safety. One former detective says there will likely be a “major meeting” regarding proper protection for the Wales family.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are on high alert after Windsor Castle break in

The public isn’t always privy to information about the royals, so it took a while for news of the break in to reach the media. The incident happened on October 13, which was a Sunday night. According to reports, two masked men scaled a six-foot fence and were able to steal two farm vehicles: a pickup truck and a quad, from the Windsor Castle grounds. The incident occurred about five minutes away from William and Kate’s home.

Mike Neville, a former Scotland Yard detective, told GB News that this is a “bad” security breach. “There will be a major meeting, I imagine, today there’ll be a gold group meeting at Thames Valley Police and with the security services about how the royal family are protected, because this is a very, very bad, a breach of security,” the former detective said.

Neville went on to add that William and George will always be targets and that security must always be top-notch for them. “They [William and Kate] might want to live as normal [a] life as possible, but they don’t live a normal life today … They are targets for all sorts of terrorism; that’s two future kings in that building. So, there’ll be a real massive review here.”

Prince William and Kate Middleton have not made mention of the break in

More than a month had passed before the public was made aware of the security breach, and so far, neither Kensington Palace nor Buckingham Palace has commented on the Wales’ situation. Things have seemed to be business as usual for the Wales family, and we’re only just now learning about the situation.

That comes as no surprise, though, since the royals hardly comment on anything security-related. It likely is just a safety protocol that so much time passed before anyone heard anything. Perhaps it was meant as a way to ensure nobody heard the news and decided to follow in the burglars’ footsteps.
