Liverpool will have Trent Alexander-Arnold available for tonight’s Champions League showdown with Real Madrid.
The defender was forced off during the win over Aston Villa before the international break and subsequently pulled out of the England squad with a hamstring injury.
Alexander-Arnold then missed the 3-2 win over Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday after Slot had claimed the right-back could return “in between” the meeting with Madrid and Sunday’s League clash with Manchester City.
However, Alexander-Arnold trained with the Liverpool squad on Tuesday, stepping up his efforts to prove his fitness ahead of the Spanish giants’ visit. Slot confirmed the defender would be in the squad, albeit is unlikely to start.
Harvey Elliott returned to the bench on Sunday following a foot injury to bolster Slot’s options, though a host of first-team players remain injured.
None of Alisson Becker, Diogo Jota or Federico Chiesa will return for the visit of the European champions.
Alexis Mac Allister and Luis Diaz could come back into the starting lineup after starting on the bench against Saints, while Kostas Tsimikas is out with an ankle injury.
Liverpool predicted XI: Kelleher; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Nunez
Injured: Alisson, Jota, Chiesa, Tsimikas
