30 Strongest Jujutsu Kaisen Characters, Ranked

30 Strongest Jujutsu Kaisen Characters, Ranked

From hulking strongmen to ultra-talented martial artists, there are a plethora of powerful characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. Shōnen anime and manga are filled with powerful characters, making it difficult for any series’ heroes and villains to stick out. Jujutsu Kaisen’s intricate power systems and complex characters, however, make it a breath of fresh even among its contemporary shōnen hits.

More so than most other shōnen series, Jujutsu Kaisen’s most powerful characters are a diverse bunch. Cursed-energy sorcerers, cursed spirits, and people without special abilities can all go head-to-head without any one group inherently having a significant advantage over the other. This is part of what makes the series so interesting, as the diverse group of Jujutsu Kaisen’s strongest characters make fights a test of will and smarts as much as raw strength.

30 Noritoshi Kamo is an Expert in Blood Manipulation

Debuted in Chapter #32 and Episode #14

One of the students that the Jujutsu High students faced during the Kyoto Goodwill Events is Noritoshi Kamo. A member of the Kamo clan, Noritoshi has a special cursed technique that allows him to fully manipulate and control his blood.

Noritoshi is a third-year student at Kyoto Jujutsu High and has the same name as his ancestor who created the Cursed Womb Death Paintings.

He can coat the head of arrows in his own blood in order to precisely aim at a target. He can also compress and condense his blood at will, turning it into various offensive objects such as sharp projectiles and wide nets. In a nutshell, Noritoshi’s technique is blood-curdling, and he’s a formidable sorcerer that will give one hell of a battle.

29 Nobara Kugisaki is a Dangerous Foe Who Never Loses Her Calm

Debuted in Chapter #3 and Episode #2

What makes Nobara so powerful is not necessarily her technique, but her fearlessness in battle. She is always calm under pressure, and never allows herself to panic or slip into despair. During the Goodwill event, she handily defeated the grade 2 sorcerer, Momo Nishimiya, despite only being ranked as a grade 3 sorcerer at the time. Later, when she and Yuji fought Kechizu and Eso, Nobara managed to keep her cool, even when she was poisoned by their Rot Technique: Decay.

Nobara’s Straw Doll Technique has the potential to flip any fight in her favor, and she is dangerous not only at close distance but also at long range. Her power level is worthy of a grade 1 sorcerer, and she certainly has more room to grow. That is, if she is still alive after the events of the Shibuya Arc, as fans have theorized.

28 Panda is a Powerful Cursed Corpse

Debuted in Chapter #10 and Episode #5

Another supporting character in Jujutsu Kaisen that has thoroughly confused viewers is Panda. While he may look like a full-grown panda, Panda is actually a cursed corpse created by the school’s principal Masamichi Yaga.

He also attends Jujutsu High and is currently categorized as a grade 2 sorcerer. Because of his innate affinity for jujutsu, Panda can also exorcise curses and has an extremely durable body. He can also switch cores that allow him to harness powerful jujutsu techniques based on other animals like gorilla, triceratops, and rhino. This makes him a terrifying enemy to face on the battlefield.

27 Toge Inumaki Can Command Anybody with Just a Word

Debuted in Chapter #10 and Episode #5

In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, some sorcerers are handed down special abilities that only exist within their clan. An example of this is the Inumaki clan’s cursed speech technique, which has been exhibited by the semi-grade 1 sorcerer Toge Inumaki.

All sorcerers fear Toge’s cursed speech technique as it allows him to command people around him and obey him. He can even use devices such as cellphones and megaphones to widen his skill’s coverage. However, the commands do take a toll on Toge’s physique, especially if it’s somewhat difficult and demanding. Because of his air of mystique and silent charm, Toge is one of Jujutsu Kaisen’s most loved characters.

Toge’s Cursed Speech technique isn’t just about forcing obedience. It can also be used to hurt his targets physically, which makes it a nifty and dangerous skill.

26 Yoshinobu Gakuganji Shreds Curses by Shredding a Guitar

Debuted in Chapter #18 and Episode #8

The principal of Jujutsu High hasn’t had too many opportunities to show his true power, but that doesn’t mean he’s not one of Jujutsu Kaisen’s strongest characters. A fun twist on the classic old man character archetype popularized by characters like Master Roshi, the Third Hokage, and Chairman Netero, Gakuganji’s special ability is to amplify sound through his electric guitar.

Decked out in a metal shirt, Gakuganji’s shredding can absolutely obliterate cursed spirits, making the principal of Jujutsu High a dangerous threat. Despite his considerable power though, his limited role in combat during the series combined with the fact that so many of the series’ younger sorcerers are legitimate prodigies means that the new generation of fighters has mostly outpaced Gakuganji. Still, when push comes to shove, Gakuganji is a major threat to almost anyone who would dare to underestimate him.

25 Mechamaru is an Expert Tactician with Heaps of Cursed Energy

Debuted in chapter #32 and episode #14

Born with a Heavenly Restriction that greatly limits his physical capabilities, Kokichi Muta has created a cursed corpse so that he can also attend Jujutsu High. His proxy is called Ultimate Mechamaru and is brought to life using Kokichi’s puppet manipulation jujutsu technique.

As Ultimate Mechamaru, Kokichi can produce incredibly powerful offensive skills. This includes shooting energy beams, using arms as blades, and producing a cannon barrel from the inside of his mouth. The Shibuya Arc finally revealed Kokich’s full potential in his battle against Mahito and Geto as he finally utilized his massive reserves of Cursed Energy accumulated over the years.

24 Maki Zenin’s Heavenly Restriction Makes Her Stronger Than Most

Debuted in Chapter #10 and Episode #5

Maki Zenin has been an outcast from her own clan as she was born as a non-sorcerer. Despite that, she trained hard in order to prove to her family that Maki can expertly wield her incredible physical prowess, so much so that she can face off against high-grade sorcerers.

It would be a grave mistake to undermine Maki’s non-sorcerer status as her strength and fighting capability is made so much more powerful by the cursed weapons she uses. In fact, she was even able to thwart the powerful cursed spirit Hanami, who has well held his own against other jujutsu sorcerers. Despite this though, her lack of Cursed Energy for much of the series is a hindrance to her incredible potential. Maki is certainly powerful with her Heavenly Pact, but her true potential has yet to be seen in Jujutsu Kaisen’s anime

23 Atsuya Kusakabe Is Stronger Than He Seems

Debuted in Chapter #83 and Episode 31

Although Kusakabe made a few appearances throughout the anime, he is one of the sorcerers least talked about. This is probably due to his actions during the Shibuya Incident Arc, where he rarely stood out and sought ways to survive, not wanting to face a strong special-grade curse. However, Kusakabe is a grade 1 jujutsu sorcerer, which isn’t a simple task to achieve, as there are only a few sorcerers who hold that grade, and he is respected by his colleagues who have him in high regard, which proves his strength.

Mei Mei recognized Kusakabe’s abilities, saying she hadn’t seen someone so skilled without ritual techniques. Also, even though he only made a small cameo in Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and his fight with Toshihisa Negi and Manami Suda gets interrupted, so his sword abilities are still unknown, Kusakabe proved he can use a simple domain to withstand the effects of a curse technique attack when he saves Kasumi Miwa from being killed by Kenjaku’s Maximum: Uzumaki.

22 Miguel Oduol Is a Powerful Former Enemy Turned Into Mentor

Debuted in Chapter #0-3 and Jujutsu Kaisen 0

Miguel was a sorcerer who only appeared so far in the prequel film Jujutsu Kaisen: 0 where he was one of Geto’s associates. Miguel’s role was to keep Gojo busy and buy time for Geto so he could achieve his plan, for which he equiped himself with a special weapon called the Black Rope, which can disrupt the effects of cursed techniques, including Limitless.

Thanks to his Black Rope, Miguel counters Gojo and manages to penetrate his defense to land physical attacks. But since Gojo is also skilled in close combat, Miguel couldn’t outmatch him. However, Miguel was still able to give Gojo a challenge, which proves his strength. Even if his cursed technique hasn’t been revealed yet, Gojo recognizes Miguel by recruiting him as the mentor of the special-grade sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu.

21 Hanami Boasts Many Frightening Abilities

Debuted in Chapter #10 and Episode #5

Even though Hanami does not possess as much cursed energy as Jogo or Mahito, Satoru claims Hanami is the more threatening Curse. Hanami is unbelievably durable and able to brush off most attacks from weapons and techniques with ease. Additionally, Hanami’s ability to suck the lifeforce from the surrounding environment means she can sustain damage that would disable most sorcerers or Curses.

On several occasions, Hanami has taken Satoru by surprise, indicating that she is able to mask her presence. Also, Hanami’s Disaster Plants Technique is amazingly versatile and can be used to alter the environment, distract and weaken opponents, and boost her movement speed.

20 Mei Mei Uses a Unique Bird Cursed Technique To Ensure Her Victory

Debuted in Chapter #0-3 and Episode #17

Mei Mei possesses some pretty unique powers that help her excel at taking down Cursed Spirits. Different from many of the other Jujutsu sorcerers in the series, she is purely driven by her desire for money, not a deeper purpose like helping the innocent or saving humanity from evil. Either way though, her skills on the battlefield are remarkable and cement her status as a grade 1 sorcerer.

Her technique incorporates an unlikely but shockingly powerful element: birds. Her Black Bird Manipulation and Bird Strike techniques are very effective against enemies, blending Cursed Energy with these animals to help them accomplish incredible feats like striking at others or spying on them for her. She is also skilled in hand-to-hand combat, which gives her a diverse range of skills she can utilize in battle to ensure her victory.

19 Megumi Fushiguro Wields A Cursed Technique as Powerful as Gojo’s

Debuted in Chapter #1 and Episode #1

Once Megumi lets go of his mental restraints, he becomes a truly powerful sorcerer.

Megumi inherited the rare and powerful Ten Shadows Technique from the Zenin family, which on its own makes him a powerful soldier. In addition to his natural talent, Megumi is also a skilled martial artist who can hold his own in a straight-up brawl. His greatest weakness has been his lack of drive and creativity, something that Satoru has often criticized him for during their training sessions.

Once Megumi lets go of his mental restraints, he becomes a truly powerful sorcerer. In his fight against the Finger Bearer under Yasohachi Bridge, Megumi was able to unleash his Domain Expansion: Chimera Shadow Garden for the first time, even though he was heavily damaged and defeated a powerful Curse that should have been way above his level.

18 Yuji Itadori Has Endless Potential and Aptitude for Jujutsu

Debuted in Chapter #1 and Episode #1

Currently, Yuji cannot use Black Flash at will, but if he learns how to do so, his power ceiling is immeasurable.

Prior to becoming Sukuna’s vessel, Yuji was already a physical freak of nature. Yuji has a brave heart throughout Jujutsu Kaisen and is naturally strong, agile, and fast, as seen by his ability to fight a high-level Curse in the first episode, despite not having any cursed energy at the time. After he learns to harness cursed energy after training with Satoru, Yuji’s power level increases even further.

His Divergent Fist Technique packs a serious punch, but his ultimate technique is Black Flash. Black Flash is 2.5 times more powerful than a normal hit and capable of damaging even innately powerful special grade curses, like Hanami. Currently, Yuji cannot use Black Flash at will, but if he learns how to do so, his power ceiling is immeasurable.

17 Aoi Todo’s Physical Strength is Backed Up by His Cursed Energy

Debuted in Chapter #16 and Episode #8

Based on his physical figure alone, it’s obvious that Aoi is fantastically strong. His muscles are covered in muscles, and with a single punch, he sent Yuji flying dozens of feet and through a fully-grown tree. He admits that he managed to defeat five grade 1 Curses and one special grade Curse during a single night, yet he is not overly confident or cocky.

Aoi is not only physically strong but also incredibly intelligent, and he is able to analyze and predict his opponent’s moves within seconds. While his Boogie Woogie technique does not have any innate offensive or defensive abilities, his skill allows him to use the technique to completely take over a battle and use the environment to his advantage.

16 Kento Nanami Uses Binding Vows to Bolster His Strength

Debuted in Chapter #18 and Episode #8

It’s easy to look at Kento and assume that he is just a mild-mannered salaryman, but looks can be deceiving. Behind Nanami’s neat appearance and monotone voice is a cold-blooded fighter with years of experience underneath his belt. He has great control over his cursed energy, and his two Binding Vows, Overtime and Revealing One’s Hand, allow him to access even more power, so much that he is able to coat his entire body in cursed energy.

Before Yuji, Kento held the record for the most consecutive uses of Black Flash, but that is not even his go-to technique. His Ratio Technique is his signature move and allows him to exploit a weak point anywhere he chooses on his opponent’s body. With so many tricks up his sleeve, Kento is a truly powerful sorcerer.

15 Uraume Can Freeze Multiple Targets

Debuted in Chapter #53 and Episode #21

Uraume is a mysterious character who is shown to support Pseudo-Geto while being only loyal to Sukuna. Urauma is powerful enough to block Choso’s attack and has a high-level cursed technique that allows them to control ice, Ice Formation, and adjust the scale at will, from small amounts to even freezing several enemies and the entire battlefield with ease and attacking with multiple ice thorns.

In addition to manipulating ice, Uraume is also skilled at reverse cursed technique, as they easily heal their hand, which had been hit by Choso’s Piercing Blood technique. According to Kusakabe, the skill of Uraume’s cursed technique is beyond any of them. However, even though Uraume failed to notice the poison mixed with Choso’s blood when using the RCT, the true extent of their power is still unknown.

14 Choso is the Strongest Death Painting

Debuted in Chapter #62 and Episode #24

One of the few Special Grade curses, Choso more than earns it with his extraordinary power and capability in combat. More than almost any other fighter in Jujutsu Kaisen, Choso’s real strength lies in his intelligence. Given the deep level of strategy and thought that goes into making some of Jujutsu Kaisen’s battles so revolutionary for shonen, Choso’s intelligence gives him an incredible edge over many of the series’ fighters.

Choso possesses the Kamo Clan’s Blood Manipulation Technique as he was created by Kenjaku while he inhabited the Kamo Clan’s evil ancestor, Noritoshi Kamo, who mixed his blood in the process.

Able to predict attacks and adjust on the fly, it can be difficult to even get a hit in on him as he tends to be a few steps ahead of his opponents. Even if he is hit though, Choso’s control over blood and his body make him an opponent who can easily go toe-to-toe with foes who should theoretically be much stronger than he is.

13 Naobito Zenin Is the Leader of One of the Big Three Clans

Debuted in Chapter #42 and Episode #17

Naobito Zenin is the leader of the Zenin Clan and a special grade 1 jujutsu sorcerer. He is one of the strongest characters who fought in the Shibuya Incident Arc, since he can use his clan-inherited cursed technique, Projection Sorcery, which is based on the concept of frames in the world of animation and is extremely useful if used strategically.

Projection Sorcery is capable of dividing an imaginary trajectory into 24 frames, which allows Naobito to move at an abnormal speed or immobilize his enemies, making him one of the fastest sorcerers and extremely confident in battle. Naobito is afraid to team up and works with Nanami and Maki to fight Dagon, but he was the one dominating the fight before the cursed spirit opened his domain. He can also use an anti-domain technique called Falling Blossom Emotion to protect himself, but he still loses his arm during the fight with Dagon and could avoid Jogo’s mortal fire.

12 Yuki Tsukumo’s Cursed Technique and Shikigami Offer Her Unfathomable Power

Debuted in Chapter #50 and Episode #20

Although she is sometimes underestimated, Yuki Tsukumo’s power is definitely nothing to sneeze at. As well as being a special grade sorcerer, she is very motivated and driven. Yuki is a very independent sorcerer and opts to do things her own way rather than following the plans of others, pushing back against authority in many circumstances.

Shockingly, it seems Yuki might not even need the help or collaboration of others to take down curses, because she is a great success at it all on her own. Her Star Rage Cursed Technique and shikigami Garuda work in tandem to deal devastating blows and swiftly defeat her enemies. She is a truly strong hero and capable of dealing some serious damage with her Cursed Energy and top-notch battle skills using both her own talents and the help Garuda provides. She can also harness Reverse Cursed Technique, something few sorcerers can do.

11 Dagon Evolves To Becoming a Real Threat

Debuted in Chapter #10 and Episode #5

Dagon is a special grade curse spirit who appeared first in a weak-looking baby form, but after evolving, he changed drastically to be fiercer and more muscular, increasing his strength considerably, even challenging Naobito Zenin, who was initially able to fight back. Dagon fights against Maki, Nanami, and Naobito and manages to corner the three of them before Megumi arrives to counter his domain.

As a special curse, Dagon can also use Domain Expansion and is not only able to control water, but also to summon various Shikigami. Dagon’s domain is truly dangerous since it allows all his shikigami to attack relentlessly and the target only realizes it after being bitten by one of them. Dagon was more powerful than even two grade 1 sorcerers, but he couldn’t do much against Toji.
