If there was ever an award for the sweetest on-screen couple, then surely Heartstopper’s main character’s, Nick and Charlie, would be in the running for it.
Since the coming-of-age romantic drama aired on Netflix back in 2022, the show has developed a cult like following and received critical acclaim, particularly for its tone, pacing and portrayal of LGBTQ individuals.
Its leading actors Kit Connor and Joe Locke recently played a game of Knowing Me, Knowing You with ELLE UK and managed to answer most of the questions correctly about their co-stars, from the actor who has won four BAFTAs (Olivia Colman) to the star who had appeared in Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year (Bradley Riches).
‘Come Dine With Me, wouldn’t that be brilliant’, states Connor while discussing the reality show he’d love to star on, to which Locke added: ‘I’d go on Bake Off, but I’ve already done that.’
Heartstopper, which also features actors Bel Priestley, Yasmin Finney, William Gao and Corinna Brown last appeared on our TV screens in August 2023, following the release of the second season. The highly anticipated third season is expected to reach Netflix’s top 10 most watched shows ranking with fans eager to know more about the progression of Nick and Charlie’s relationship as they begin to face even more difficult challenges and consider their university choices.
Outside of filming, Locke opened up about his favourite memory from filming the upcoming season. ‘We were all having dinner in Lyme Regis in the first week of shooting and we basically were chased. We were chased out of a restaurant,’ he said.
