Kavanagh was one of the most exciting talents in the country with wrists that could make the ball talk, but his knees gave away long before he was forced to hang up the hurl at the age of just 27. The first of his three cruciate knee ligament ruptures came in 2016 through a freak accident where an opposition player fell on him and his “MRI report read like a novel”.
