Dragon Ball DAIMA Chose the Worst Timing to Show Vegeta as the Ideal Husband

Dragon Ball’s protagonist, Son Goku has been perfect in almost every aspect of the series. The character has shown tremendous growth and proved himself capable of crossing the most dangerous hurdles with ease. However, the one aspect of life where Goku has failed miserably according to many fans is being an ideal husband and father.

Ever since Goku got married, he has been criticized by Dragon Ball fans for not fulfilling his duties as a husband to Chi-Chi and as a father to his sons Gohan and Goten. This is proved by the fact that both of their children have been raised mostly by Chi-Chi alone as Goku was away fighting the villains of the different Dragon Ball storylines.

Another character who might give Goku tough competition in being the worst husband is Vegeta. Just like Goku, he was also not present for his wife Bulma and his child Trunks but it looks like Vegeta might be making up for it. In the latest Dragon Ball DAIMA episode Vegeta is seen proving himself to be the ideal husband, while Goku reflects on the fact that he might be a bad father.

Goku And Vegeta Are Not Ideal Husbands And Fathers

The Dragon Ball franchise has a lot of strong characters, but there are very few who have been able to reach the level of Goku and Vegeta. The Saiyan warriors have proved themselves proficient in the art of battle as they continue to grow stronger and unlock new potential within themselves. This is why they have been deemed warriors who protect Earth from evil villains.

However, protecting Earth might come at a big cost of staying away from their families. Both Goku and Vegeta have been blessed with wonderful partners and children in the form of Chi-Chi, Gohan, Goten, Bulma, Trunks, and Bulla. But because Goku and Vegeta have been so obsessed with getting stronger and fighting the most dangerous villains, they have not given any time to their families.

Until Dragon Ball Z, Goku and Vegeta’s relationship with their better halves and their children didn’t have any kind of intriguing aspect. They were just built for the sake of narrative, and this was not accepted by fans at all. But since Dragon Ball Super, this aspect might have seen some changes.

Dragon Ball DAIMA Shows Vegeta Being The Ideal Husband

Dragon Ball DAIMA, being the last project involving Akira Toriyama, had a lot of unexpected twists and turns that made the series intriguing. One such aspect was the reflection of Goku and Vegeta on their roles as husbands and fathers. The latest episode of the series saw Vegeta being the ideal husband as he stood in front of Bulma when an unknown ship arrived, which could have been a potential danger.

This proves that even though Vegeta might not show it, he cares deeply for Bulma and is ever ready to protect her from any kind of imminent danger.

However, in the next scene, Goku is seen reflecting on his role as a father when Panzy asks Goku about how he raised a child after seeing him act like one.

This immediately turns into a bleak moment as Goku, in a low tone, points out that he was not really present for his children when they were growing up. Thus, while the episode showed Vegeta being a good and caring husband, it couldn’t have been at a worse time as Goku reflected on his fatherhood skills.

Dragon Ball DAIMA is available to watch on Crunchyroll.
