The 2024 BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards will be held on Tuesday December 17 at the home of BBC Sport in MediaCity, Salford.
The official shortlist will be announced in December but bookmakers are already offering odds on who will lift the main prize.
Keely Hodgkinson is the favourite and victory for the Olympic 800 metres champion would mean an unprecedented fourth successive female winner, after Mary Earps last year, Beth Mead in 2022 and Emma Raducanu in 2021. The tennis player’s triumph had followed a 15-year drought for women.
The programme will also have an all-female presenting line-up for the first time after the BBC confirmed Gary Lineker will not be replaced as co-host. Clare Balding, Gabby Logan and Alex Scott will present this year’s show.
