Liverpool is set to be without Kostas Tsimikas for a “few weeks” after the defender picked up an injury in training. The Greek left-back was absent when the Reds won 3-2 at Southampton over the weekend.
According to the Daily Star’s Chris McKenna, Arne Slot will be missing the 27-year-old for a short spell. Tsimikas will not be involved in the game with Real Madrid this midweek with Manchester City to come at the weekend and then trips to Newcastle United and Everton coming in the Premier League next week.
It means that Andy Robertson might be required to play an extended run of matches. Joe Gomez is another option to fill in at left-back, which he did successfully for much of last season.
