Woman (20s) charged after serious assault of man and dangerous driving in Kildare

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.

A woman has been charged in connection with an incident of assault and endangerment in Co Kildare that left a man with serious injuries this week.

Gardaí in Naas are investigating the incident, which took place on Blessington Road in the town on Monday afternoon, at around 4pm.

Two men were involved in an altercation in a car park on the Blessington Road while a vehicle was driven dangerously around the site.

A man in his 20s was taken to Tallaght University Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries following the incident.

Meanwhile, a woman in her 20s was arrested by gardaí and detained at a garda station in Kildare under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

She was later charged in connection with the incident and appeared before Naas District Court on Wednesday morning.

An Garda Síochána is now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.

A garda spokesperson said: “Any person who was on the Blessington Road in Naas, County Kildare on Monday afternoon between 3.30pm and 4.30pm is asked to contact investigating gardaí.

“Additionally, road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Naas Garda Station 045 884300 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
