DAN LANNING
— “I think we showed what we’re capable of and I still watch that game and say man there’s so many places” for them to be better.
— Felt they were able to establish the run in second half
— “There’s a lot of things that we can still improve.” Excited about postgame demeanor. Have to tackle better.
— On shutout: A lot of guys ready for their moment when their number is called.
— On defense: A lot of positives. Created takeaways. Have to tackle better though.
— On run defense: “We have to be better at it for us to be what we want to be.” Some was due to Purdue leaning into run game so much.
— On road game on short week: Thought prep was good.
— On run offense: Some was taken away by Purdue, which changed up its front from Bear to four-down.
— On Terrance Ferguson: Had appendectomy this week. Expects him back “relatively soon.”
