An Alaska Airlines flight leaving Portland Sunday morning en route to Orlando was forced to make an emergency landing after striking a bird.
The flight took off then landed safely about 8:10 a.m., according to Steve Johnson, a spokesperson for the Port of Portland. He said the incident was initially reported as a bird strike and that no injuries were reported.
The plan was removed from service and is being inspected, according to Fox 12 News, which cited an Alaska Airlines spokesperson. Passengers and crew were rebooked on other flights.
