How did Oregon State’s football transfers perform in Week 8?

The Oregon State Beavers lost a slew of players to the transfer portal after the 2023 college football season. Here’s a look at how prominent players performed at their new school in Week 7:

Aidan Chiles, QB, Michigan State: The former OSU quarterback completed 22 of 30 passes for 256 yards, one touchdown and one interception as the Spartans defeated Iowa 32-20 to snap a three-game losing streak. He has completed 108 of 182 passes for 1,468 yards, six touchdowns and nine interceptions this season.

DJ Uiagalelei, QB, Florida State: A disastrous season may be over for the former Oregon State starting quarterback. Uiagalelei underwent surgery earlier this month to repair a broken finger on his throwing hand and has been replaced by redshirt freshman Brock Glenn. Uiagalelei has been terrible for the Seminoles, completing 84 of 156 passes for 1,065 yards, and he has more interceptions (six) than touchdowns (four).

Sione Lolohea, DL, Florida State: The backup defensive end played 36 snaps and recorded four tackles as the Seminoles lost 23-16 at Duke. He has recorded 14 tackles and one-half sack this season for the disappointing Seminoles.

Oregon State (4-3) at California (3-4)

Silas Bolden, WR, Texas: Bolden played just one offensive snap as the Longhorns fell 30-15 to Georgia in college football’s game of the week. The backup wide receiver has 10 receptions for 77 yards and two touchdowns this season.

Atticus Sappington, K, Oregon: The Beavers’ former starting kicker did not attempt a field goal, but made 4 of 4 extra points, as the Ducks earned a 35-0 shutout at Purdue. He has made 8 of 10 field goals this season, including a game-winner as time expired against Boise State in Week 2.

Easton Mascarenas-Arnold, ILB, USC: The starting middle linebacker played 65 snaps and recorded six tackles, one sack and two tackles for loss during the Trojans’ rough 29-28 loss to Maryland. He has 55 tackles, two interceptions and one sack this season.

Akili Arnold, S, USC: The Trojans’ starting safety played a team-high 79 snaps and had six tackles in the loss to Maryland. He has 34 tackles and one pass deflection this season.

Jack Velling, TE, Michigan State: The Spartans’ starting tight finished with four receptions for 18 yards in the win over Iowa. He has 23 receptions for 256 yards this season.

Tanner Miller, OL, Michigan State: The Spartans’ starting center played 74 snaps in Michigan State’s win.

Damien Martinez, RB, Miami: The one-time OSU star rushed 12 times for 89 yards and one touchdown as the Hurricanes defeated Louisville 42-35. The running back has rushed 78 times for 381 yards and six touchdowns through seven games.

Jermod McCoy, CB, Tennessee: The Volunteers’ starting cornerback was instrumental in a memorable 24-17 win over Alabama, finishing with one interception, eight tackles and one pass deflection in 63 snaps. He has 24 tackles, four pass deflections and two interceptions this season.

Jake Overman, TE, Pittsburgh: The Panthers had a bye last weekend, so the backup tight end did not play. He has six receptions for 55 yards this season.
