The encrypted messages sent by senior Kinahan gang members to orchestrate a false weapons handover to police gave a rare insight into the inner workings of the international crime gang.
The aim was to get Thomas ‘Bomber’ Kavanagh (57) a reduced sentence on drug-smuggling charges he was facing, but yesterday it cost him an extra three years in jail.
