US country star Zach Bryan will take to the BST Hyde Park stage on 28 June, marking his first headline performance at a UK festival.

Jeff Lynne’s Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) will say a “final goodbye” to touring with a hit-filled set at BST Hyde Park on 13 July.

The rock group, best known for songs including Mr. Blue Sky, Livin’ Thing and Evil Woman, were formed in Birmingham in 1970 by Lynne and keyboardist Roy Wood. Richard Tandy, who had been bassist but became the keyboardist after Wood’s departure, died at the age of 76 earlier this year.

The band split in 1986 but Lynne reformed the band in 2014. They have since released two comeback albums, Alone in the Universe and From Out of Nowhere, and performed a memorable set as part of Glastonbury’s ‘legends’ slot’ in 2016.

In a statement, Lynne, 76, said: “My return to touring began at Hyde Park in 2014. It seems like the perfect place to do our final show. We couldn’t be more excited to share this special night in London with our UK fans. As the song goes, ‘We’re gonna do it One More Time’.”

The musician was made an OBE in the 2020 Queen’s Birthday Honours list for services to music, and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2015.
