Westmeath motorist allegedly rammed twice in four days as midlands feud escalates

Anthony Dinnegan (52) was remanded in custody following a two-and-a-half hour contested bail hearing at Longford District Court last night.

A man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court accused of attempting to ram another motorist off the road twice in the space of four days amid what the court heard was a spiralling feud which has gripped a midlands town in recent times.

Longford District Court heard that Eddie Myers sustained a combined 25 stitches over his right eye and elbow along with lacerations to his right hand and chin when his car was rear-ended by a silver Toyota Landcruiser before crashing into a wall along Mullingar’s Harbour Street on August 2.
