It’s showtime! Strictly Come Dancing returned to our screens last week, with the 15 celebrities meeting their professional dance partners ahead of the very first live show on Saturday, 21 September. The BBC One dancing competition shrugged off its year of scandal by sidestepping the controversy surrounding the show with a launch show packed with smiles, sequins, and wisecracks from early fan favourite comedian Chris McCausland.
But now it’s down to business, as the stars will have to perform their first dances in front of a live studio audience, and under the watchful eye of the four judges: Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood and Anton Du Beke. As befits tradition, there will be no elimination from Strictly this week but the judges scores will carry over into week two, so there’s no slacking off.
Viewers will have the chance to see which couples have what it takes to impress the judges, and which are likely to be sent home early from the show. So follow along live, as we keep you updated on Strictly Come Dancing’s first live show of 2024.
