Home baking expert Catherine Leyden, also known as The Odlums Lady, is 72 and lives in Ranelagh. Although retired, she still has presenting slots on ‘Ireland AM’ and is an ambassador for Odlums.
I’m the eldest of 10. We moved around a bit because of daddy’s job, he was an engineer. We started in Dublin, then moved to Wexford, then to Galway. I was in different schools, which I don’t think did me any harm, but it wasn’t that easy. Because I was the eldest, I was very responsible and very sensible. I’d be anxious about my brothers and sisters always, and kind of mind them when I could. I was like a second mammy to them, after she died.
