The 15 Biggest Star Wars LEGO Sets Of All Time

Star Wars will always be one of the LEGO Group’s trademark franchises. Since 1999, LEGO has consistently released models of classic ships, vehicles, iconic characters, and epic moments from the Skywalker saga in brick-built form. To that end, many of the most coveted models from the galaxy far, far away have piece counts in the thousands.

In its 25-year history with Star Wars, the LEGO Group has released some of its biggest models ever under its Ultimate Collector Series line. This includes classic ships such as The Millennium Falcon and Imperial Star Destroyers. Also, sets continue to get bigger and better every year, including recently released Star Wars LEGO models in 2024. To that end, here are 15 of the biggest Star Wars LEGO sets of all time.

15 Imperial Star Destroyer

Originally released in 2002, LEGO’s Imperial Star Destroyer was on shelves for five years before it finally retired in 2007. Consisting of 3,069 pieces, the entire set was the largest Star Wars model of its time, measuring 37 inches by 23. Representing the might of the Imperial Navy in the Star Wars canon, the first UCS Star Destroyer was highly coveted by collectors. In 2002, it was originally sold for $269.99.

14 Super Star Destroyer

The LEGO Group upped the ante in 2011 with an impressive model of Darth Vader’s Super Star Destroyer. Known as The Executor, the Super Star Destroyer dwarfed the more standard Imperial Star Destroyers that made up the bulk of the Imperial Navy. Coming in at 3,152 pieces, the Super Star Destroyer measured 50 inches long and came with minifigures of Darth Vader, Admiral Piett, Dengar, Bossk and IG-88, recreating the bridge scene from The Empire Strikes Back.

13 Mos Eisley Cantina

Set to retire by the end of 2024, LEGO’s Mos Eisley Cantina is a truly impressive build that comes with 21 different minifigures from A New Hope. Made up of 3,187 pieces, the Mos Eisley Cantina LEGO set features several key details and characters seen in the first Star Wars movie. This includes the classic cantina band known as Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes, the thugs Evazan and Pondo Baba, and even Garindan, the Kubaz who spied for the Imperials.

12 Republic Gunship

Released in 2021 and retired in 2023, LEGO’s UCS Republic Gunship (75309) had a relatively shorter shelf-life than more recent UCS models. However, the gunship’s popularity was still quite high, as the classic Clone Wars vehicle was even voted for by LEGO fans to be made into a UCS model in the first place. Consisting of 3,292 pieces, the Republic Gunship was 13 inches high, 27 inches long, and 29 inches wide.

11 Sandcrawler

While Jawas may be among the smaller of Star Wars‘ various alien species, they definitely knew how to travel in style with their hulking Sandcrawlers. Such is the case with LEGO’s very large, 3,296-piece Sandcrawler (75050). Coming with 14 minifigures from A New Hope, the Sandcrawler was originally released in 2014, measuring over 9 inches tall.

10 Death Star II

A more unique model, LEGO’s Death Star II was built purely for display rather than being a playset with minifigures as seen with other models of the battle station. Released in 2005, Death Star II is made up of 3,449 pieces. This included a to-scale Imperial Star Destroyer that only needed about 20 pieces, which helps give an idea of how much larger the second Death Star was in comparison.

9 Death Star

Death Star (10188) was the first version of a playset model released by LEGO. Coming in 3,803 pieces, this model combines moments from the first and second Death Stars with various sections and 24 different minifigures. Originally released in 2008, this original Death Star playset model received an upgraded iteration 8 years later in 2016.

8 Jabba’s Sail Barge

Releasing October 1st, Jabba’s Sail Barge (75397) is the most recent UCS Star Wars LEGO set at the time of writing. Featuring 11 minifigures from Return of the Jedi including Jabba the Hutt, Huttslayer Leia, and Salacious B. Crumb, Jabba’s Sail Barge is quite impressive with its 3,942 pieces, creating a very accurate brick-built version of the Tatooine gangster’s luxury repulsorcraft. It measures 10 inches tall and 30.5 inches long.

7 Death Star

Released in 2016 with a four-year run until its retirement in 2020, LEGO’s Death Star (75159) was an upgraded version of the original playset from 2008. While the construction was largely the same, many elements and the minifigures that came with this new model received updated designs and features. This included new hairpieces, accessories, and eye pupils in line with LEGO’s more modern face printing.

6 Imperial Star Destroyer

Released in 2019 and retired in 2022, LEGO’s newer UCS Star Destroyer is much bigger than the original version, a difference of nearly 1700 pieces from the previously listed 2002 model with its 4,784 piece count. Featuring updated design and construction features, this version of the UCS Star Destroyer measures 43 inches long and 26 inches wide. As such, it was most certainly an upgrade in comparison (including its $699.99 price tag).

5 Ultimate Collector’s Millennium Falcon

The first UCS Millennium Falcon (10179) was released in 2007. Built using 5,197 pieces, the UCS Millennium Falcon came with 5 minifigures of Han Solo, Chewbacca, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa, recreating their Death Star rescue mission as seen in A New Hope. However, this original UCS model would eventually receive its own upgraded model as well.

4 Venator-class Republic Attack Cruiser

Released in 2023, LEGO’s Venator-class Republic Attack Cruiser (75367) is currently still on sale. Consisting of 5,374 pieces, the Venator is quite an impressive Clone Wars model, and is highly coveted by Star Wars fans and major LEGO collectors alike. It measures 12.5 inches high, 43 inches long (the same length as 2019’s Imperial Star Destroyer).

3 The Razor Crest

Inspired by The Mandalorian, The Razor Crest (75331) is currently the seventh-biggest LEGO set of all time with a count of 6,187 pieces. Featuring minifigures of Din Djarin, Grogu, Kuill on his buildable Blurrg, and The Mythrol from The Mandalorian’s season 1 premiere, the build is quite impressive, having been released in 2022. While LEGO also had a playscale-model of the Razor Crest, it’s cool to see this UCS Razor Crest option for the biggest Star Wars fans and collectors.

2 AT-AT

The sixth-biggest LEGO set of all time, 2021’s UCS AT-AT is a behemoth. Standing at 24.5 inches tall with a piece count of 6,785. Coming with nine different minifigures from Empire Strikes Back’s Battle of Hoth and a fully detailed interior, the Imperial AT-AT is by far one of the most epic Star Wars models LEGO has ever made. However, it’s expected that the LEGO AT-AT will also be retiring at the end of 2024.

1 Millennium Falcon

The newest UCS model of The Millennium Falcon is the biggest Star Wars LEGO set of all time and the fifth-biggest LEGO set overall, right behind the Roman Collesium, Titantic, Effiel Tower, and World Map. Featuring a whopping piece count of 7,541, 2017’s Millennium Falcon model comes with eight minifigures, four for the original trilogy and 4 for the sequels. Likewise, the set also comes with interchangeable radar dishes.

Having been on shelves for seven years, the UCS Millennium Falcon is one of the most popular and highly desired LEGO sets ever. Not only does it feature a highly detailed exterior, but it also has an accurate interior as well. The full UCS Millennium Falcon measures 8 inches high, 33 inches long, and 22 inches wide.
