A man was arrested after gardaí seized €120,000 worth of drugs in Galway.
The seizure was made on Monday as part of an intelligence-led operation.
Revenue officers seized approximately 6kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €120,000 in the Newcastle area of the county, gardaí said.
“The seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, Galway Divisional Drugs Unit and Revenue’s Customs Service,” a spokesperson said.
A man in his 30s was arrested and is currently being questioned at Galway Regional and Divisional Headquarters under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
