The man had been stopped and searched by gardaí from the Coolock Drugs Unit during the course of an “intelligence-led operation”.
A man has been arrested after gardaí seized a double-barrel shotgun and €35,000 worth of cocaine and cannabis in North Dublin yesterday.
The man, in his 20s, was stopped and searched by gardaí from the Coolock Drugs Unit during the course of an “intelligence-led operation”.
The shotgun and 0.5kg of suspected cocaine, worth an estimated €35,000 was seized, alongside suspected cannabis worth approximately €250.
“The firearm was made safe,” a Garda spokesperson said.
“It will now be sent on to the Ballistics Section of the Garda Technical Bureau to undergo analysis.”
Meanwhile, the suspected drugs will be sent to FSI (Forensic Science Ireland) for analysis.
“The male (20s) was arrested and detained at a Garda Station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region pursuant to Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939.
“Investigations are ongoing,” the spokesperson said.
