Batman has gone up against some of the darkest and most vicious killers that Gotham City has to offer, but a brand new villain is about to catch him completely by surprise. A brutal and bloody murder mytsery may be familiar, but the razor-sharp-fingered new villain, Asema, is a threat unlike most the Dark Knight has faced (for one stomach-turning reason).
There are plenty of serial killers that Batman has defeated over the years, but he’s never seen a bloodbath like Asema. The streets of Gotham are painted red, and seem only to empower Asema more as she continues collecting the plasma of the innocent. But aside from the fact that Asema attacks with literal scalpels as fingers, but she also knows a major secret.

Not only is Asema a new villain that Batman has never faced before, but she also has a mysterious connection to Bruce Wayne. She might even know Batman’s secret identity, which would make Asema significantly more dangerous than the average criminal in Gotham City.
DC’s All-In Has Several New Villains In Store For Batman
Asema has been harvesting the blood of innocent men in Gotham, and it seems that Batman is going to have a hard time stopping her. While Batman’s armor is capable of defending against most attacks, and he’s an expert at disabling enemies, that’s going to be a bit harder with Asema, as her fingers are literal scalpels that seem capable of piercing most things easily. It’s also worth pointing out that Asema seems to be targeting young men specifically, which means the blood of someone like Batman should be worth quite a lot, even if he’s not in his prime.
Batman really only excels when he knows the enemy he’s up against. When Batman is facing off against unknown variables, he tends to flounder. Asema has every advantage in that she has an unknown connection to Bruce Wayne and her method of killing is something Bruce hasn’t really gone up against before. While Batman has dealt with serial killers like Zsasz, he’s never dealt with someone specifically harvesting the blood of their victims. Batman will have to quickly work out the modus operandi of Asema and her relation to Bruce Wayne if he’s to have any hope of beating this new villain.
The next year promises to be amazing for Batman fans. Not only will readers get a new version of the iconic character with Scott Snyder’s upcoming Absolute Batman, but fan-favorite Tom Taylor will also be taking over Detective Comics with a brand-new villain and mystery for Batman to solve. Asema is poised to be the biggest threat this year for Batman, and it’ll be amazing to see how The Dark Knight Detective manages to defeat this new killer that’s terrorizing Gotham.
