Foreign Affairs Minister Micheál Martin said that he is “very fearful” of an escalation of the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah as Israel carried out 300 missile strikes on what it said were Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon and warned civilians to flee.

Speaking to RTÉ Radio One’s Morning Ireland, Mr Martin added that “all the signs are that Israel is intent on doing more in Lebanon”.
