The Detroit Lions just keep winning.
Even when it felt like they were on the ropes against the Houston Texans, the Lions never gave up, and found a way to pull off a dramatic win.
This team was a preseason favorite to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl, and they are living up to those expectations so far.
While the Lions’ offense was the story in the 2023 campaign, many believed their defense was going to turn a corner, which they have done this year.
Losing Aidan Hutchinson could have been a devastating blow, but the Lions have won without him on the roster.
After finding out that Hutchinson was going to be out for the year, the Lions looked around for a potential replacement, landing on Za’Darius Smith.
They executed a trade for him, and early returns have been positive.
Defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn recently gave his opinion on their newest addition, gleaming with pride about the veteran end.
“You can tell how excited he is to be a part of this organization,” Glenn said, adding, “And listen, we’re throwing some things at him.”

Smith might be a new addition to the team, but judging by Glenn’s comments, he’s being treated like he’s been with them all year.
They are hopeful that he can continue to pick up on their schemes and plays, hopefully becoming fully integrated with the defense by the playoffs.
This is shaping up to be a roster that teams do not want to play down the stretch, especially in the playoffs.
