The New England Patriots have themselves a superstar in the making under center with rookie quarterback Drake Maye.
At least, that is how former NFL head coach and current Barstool Sports contributor Jon Gruden feels at this moment.
“Drake Maye is going to be a superstar. Drake Maye is going to be everything you’re looking for. Five-star,” Gruden said Thursday night in response to the question of if he’d rather take Maye or Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams (via Barstool Sports).

The former Super Bowl champion head coach has had an eye for talent at the quarterback position and knows greatness when he sees it.
After all, he has coached Brett Favre, Randall Cunningham, Rich Gannon, Brad Johnson, Jeff Garcia, Derek Carr, and many others.
Maye is showing great potential with the Patriots, even though the stats and the team’s record might not be as pretty.
The former North Carolina Tar Heel has completed 64.7% of his passes and averaged 9.3 yards per rush on the ground.
He stands at 6-4 and weighs 225 pounds.
No, he doesn’t have an excellent touchdown-to-interception ratio.
No, the Patriots do not have the best record.
But right now, all that matters is that they find their future quarterback, and it looks like they might have with the signs that the No. 3 overall draft pick is showing.
After leading the Pats to a road win over the Chicago Bears, Maye and the team are set to host the Los Angeles Rams this Sunday.
