Chevrolet Silverado recalled | The West Australian

General Motors Specialty Vehicles (GMSV) has recalled 636 examples of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 in Australia, due to a fault which could lead to decreased braking performance.

“Due to a software issue with the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM), the brake fluid warning light may not illuminate as intended and therefore fail to warn the driver when the brake fluid level is low,” the carmaker said in its recall notice.

“As a result, insufficient brake fluid could lead to a reduction in braking performance.

“A reduction in braking performance could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”
