It turns out Peter Dinklage is not only a talented actor but also an amazing friend. Nearly six years ago, on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Dinklage confessed to helping his dear friend and co-star, Jamie Dornan, with his lines for Fifty Shades Freed.
Dinklage stepped in to run lines for Dornan, playing none other than Anastasia Steele, Christian Grey’s onscreen lover. Though his contribution went uncredited, Dinklage wasn’t looking for recognition, he just wanted to help his buddy out. He said,
I read some of the screenplay…in our dressing room. He had to do some reshoots for Fifty Shades and I would help him out, learning lines, I would read the Dakota Johnson parts. I was just helping a friend learn lines. I nailed it. I really did.
Filming for My Dinner with Hervé happened around the same time as the Fifty Shades Freed reshoots, so whenever there was downtime, Peter Dinklage would pop into Jamie Dornan’s trailer to help him run lines as Dakota Johnson’s Anastasia. Fans were undoubtedly amused by the thought and couldn’t help but wish they’d get a glimpse of Dinklage’s take on the iconic role.
