Overwatch 2 Needs a Critical Feature That is Present in Almost Every Live Service Game

There’s no doubt that Overwatch 2‘s journey has been riddled by both triumphs and controversies. From the initial disappointment over the cancellation of PvE missions to divisive core gameplay changes, the game has constantly faced scrutiny, with many in the community believing Blizzard has ruined the series.

Overwatch 2 has been gaining steam in the last couple of months, all thanks to new updates, heroes, and, most crucially, Overwatch Classic. It’s great to see that Blizzard is finally recognizing what the community demands. However, it’s still mind-boggling how the developer doesn’t have one of the most useful features that can be found in any live-service game on day one of launch!

Can Blizzard Finally Add the Zoom System in Overwatch 2 Shop?

Despite its issues, Overwatch 2 has given us an enjoyable team-based FPS where even the most casual players can have a good time playing their favorite heroes. One of the most satisfying parts of the game is unlocking an amazing skin for your Overwatch main!

With the sequel, Blizzard has amped up the skin game and brings us tons of new additions every month. As you dive into the hero-shooter, you’ll be spoilt for a choice with a number of skins ranging from sleek futurism to mythical grandeur. There’s one problem, though; when you’re purchasing in the game’s shop, you can’t zoom in and see every detail of the skin you’re about to invest in.

I officially ask to Blizzard to finally add a zoom system in the shop. We want to zoom in or zoom out to explore all the skins details before buying them. Every game has this system, why not OW ?

You might think that there’s no point in such a feature because who really zooms in and looks into the details of a skin? However, considering the fact that some skins Overwatch 2 can cost an arm and leg, many in the community want to inspect every intricate detail and unique feature before they hit the purchase button.

It’s a quality-of-life feature in any live service game that allows players to appreciate premium skins and helps create an immersive experience. With the game’s upward trajectory in recent months, it can help Blizzard push newer players to the shop, as they’ll be able to make informed decisions about the cosmetics they want to purchase.

Let’s hope the company can add this much-needed quality-of-life feature and many other things before the next in-game season begins.

Overwatch Might Be Soon Coming to Mobile

Even though Blizzard has done some incredible work with Overwatch 2, the fact is that the game is nowhere in terms of popularity when compared to the original game. The developer is well aware of this fact and is planning to turn things around for the hero-shooter with a mobile port.

There’s a massive market for FPS games on mobile as titles such as PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty Mobile have lured millions of players across the world. Given the hero shooter’s solid reputation, bringing it to mobiles is risky but might work out big in the long run.

The surprising news comes from Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier’s third book, Play Nice: The Rise, Fall, and Future of Blizzard Entertainment. Considering Schreier’s reputation as one of the most reputable insiders in the video game industry, there’s a high chance that this project is indeed in development.

While having a mobile version of the hero-shooter might prove to be great, its existence will only amplify Overwatch 2‘s existing problem. The developer should focus more on fixing the game’s damaged reputation by bringing more meaningful updates and even re-evaluating its monetization model instead of chasing industry trends.

With that said, do you think there are any other quality-of-life features Overwatch 2 needs? Let us know in the comments below.
