The American Athletic Conference released its men’s and women’s basketball schedules Thursday, finalizing the dates on the 2024-25 season schedule for Wichita State.
The WSU men’s basketball team will open up conference play on Friday, Jan. 3 when the Shockers hit the road to play at Temple. The home-opener will be the following game when WSU hosts South Florida on Monday, Jan. 6 inside the Roundhouse.
Tip times and television information for all WSU games should be released in the coming weeks.
Key home dates at Koch Arena include Sunday, Feb. 16 when Memphis comes to town, as well as Thursday, Feb. 27 when UAB is slated to come to Wichita. Both teams figure to be the top contenders to win the AAC this upcoming season.
Senior day at Koch Arena will take place on Sunday, March 9, the final regular-season date on the schedule, as the Shockers take on rival Tulsa.
As part of the 18-game conference schedule, WSU will host nine games at Koch Arena with five mid-week games and four weekend games. Other home games on the schedule are against Charlotte (Tuesday, Jan. 14), East Carolina (Saturday, Jan. 18), North Texas (Wednesday, Jan. 29), UTSA (Wednesday, Feb. 12) and Tulane (Sunday, Feb. 23).
Road dates for the Shockers include trips to UTSA (Saturday, Jan. 11), Memphis (Thursday, Jan. 23), Tulsa (Sunday, Jan. 26), Charlotte (Tuesday, Feb. 4), South Florida (Sunday, Feb. 9), Florida Atlantic (Thursday, Feb. 20), North Texas (Monday, March 3) and Rice (Thursday, March 6).
Meanwhile, the WSU women’s basketball team will open up conference play at home when the Shockers host UTSA on Sunday, Dec. 29.
Other home games for the Shocker women include Tulsa (Saturday, Jan. 11), Rice (Wednesday, Jan. 15), South Florida (Saturday, Jan. 25), Tulane (Saturday, Feb. 1), UAB (Tuesday, Feb. 11), Charlotte (Saturday, Feb. 22), Florida Atlantic (Tuesday, Feb. 25) and North Texas (Tuesday, March 4).
