The 2024 NFL season has been another rough year for the Cincinnati Bengals, as superstar quarterback Joe Burrow and his talented squad haven’t been able to figure out how to win games consistently despite giving opponents a run for their money on a weekly basis.

There’s no question that the Bengals can hang with top-tier talent in the NFL right now, but they haven’t been able to seal the deal when the game is on the line, which has proven costly to their chances of making the NFL playoffs this year.

On Sunday night, the Bengals were in an all-out battle with Justin Herbert and Jim Harbaugh’s Los Angeles Chargers, which came down to the wire, resulting in Cincinnati falling apart late in the fourth quarter.

Although the Bengals had their opportunities to beat the Chargers, a few missed field goals and other opportunities turned out to be the difference, which has led to questions about whether head coach Zac Taylor will still have a job at season’s end.

Ben Maller of FOX Sports Radio believes Taylor is barely holding on in the second half of the 2024 campaign.

“I have Zac Taylor hanging on by his eyelids, and the only thing saving him is the frugality of the Bengals,” Maller said.

With some elite coaching candidates available, like Mike Vrabel and Bill Belichick, and players in their prime, like Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, Cincinnati could shake things up at head coach.

Only time will tell how things pan out for Cincinnati, but the team does have some intriguing options if they part ways with Taylor.
