NBC is revealing some exciting new details about its highly anticipated Suits spinoff. Suits LA will premiere in February 2025, and the cast will include one very familiar face. (No, we’re not talking about Meghan Markle.)
‘Suits LA’ premieres February 23 on NBC
Suits LA will premiere Sunday, Feb. 23 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC. Episodes will stream the next day on Peacock.
The new show is a spinoff of Suits, which ran from 2011 to 2019 on USA Network. Suits LA will follow Ted Black, a one-time federal prosecutor from New York who now represents some of the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. With his firm in crisis, he must embrace a role he’s held in contempt for his entire career in order to survive.
Ted is surrounded by a variety of characters “who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives,” according to NBC’s description of the show. As Ted and his team face their current challenges, the events that led Ted to abandon his career in New York – along with everyone he loved – are gradually revealed.
Stephen Amell will play Ted. Suits LA also stars Lex Scott Davis, Josh McDermitt, and Bryan Greenberg. The late John Amos will appear as himself in the pilot episode. It was the final role for the actor, who died in August 2024 at age 84.
An original ‘Suits’ cast member will appear in ‘Suits LA’
Ever since NBC confirmed it was moving forward with a Suits spinoff, fans have been wondering if any characters from the original show would pop up at the new firm. Now, we have an answer. Gabriel Macht, who played Harvey Specter on Suits, will reprise his role as the character in three episodes of Suits LA, Deadline reports.
Exactly what brings Harvey to Los Angeles isn’t clear, but in a Nov. 20 Instagram post, Macht made a reference to helping out an old friend, suggesting that he and Ted might know each other from their days in the NYC prosecutors office.
“When an old friend is in need…it’s time to take care of things and make those very ‘things’ right,” he captioned a video that showed him putting on Harvey’s shoes. In January, Macht reunited with his Suits co-stars Patrick J. Adams, Sarah Rafferty, and Gina Torres at the Golden Globe Awards.
Suits LA is currently filming its first season.
“Yo, we’re here,” Amelle said in a Nov. 18 Instagram video filmed in his trailer on set. “We made it. Suits LA. Day one baby, let’s go!”
