Manchester United midfielder Dan Gore is back in training after recovering from a minor injury.
The Manchester Evening News revealed last week that Gore’s issue wasn’t serious and that was a relief for supporters after his unfortunate absence at the start of the campaign.
Gore has now returned to training and could feature in an academy behind-closed-doors fixture against Middlesbrough, which is set to be played in the North East this week.
If everything goes to plan, Gore is expected to play for the Under-21s against West Ham in the Premier League 2 on November 29 – that is the first academy fixture after the international break – and it’s likely that he will spend a month with United before leaving on loan again.injury-free

Gore joined Port Vale on a six-month loan in the last January transfer window but suffered a stroke of bad luck when picking up an injury in his first appearance for the club. The 20-year-old had previously enjoyed an injury free couple of years but hasn’t had the rub of the green in 2024.
United fan Gore missed the start of the season due to a freak shoulder injury but picked up a different problem after his return, which was responsible for his recent lay-off.
Gore remains one of the most highly regarded youngsters to have progressed through the academy in recent years and was handed his senior debut in September 2023.
Former manager Erik ten Hag named Gore in the squad to face Porto in the Europa League at the beginning of last month and it’s possible he could catch Ruben Amorim’s eye in training.
However, Gore is a candidate for a loan in January because he needs the challenge of competitive senior football for the next stage of his development and United will assess offers.
Clubs who sign United’s youngsters on loan must pitch their development plan and a side in a higher division may not be a better move than a club who can offer more minutes.
Gore was a crucial part of the supremely talented youth side that won the FA Youth Cup in the 2021/22 season, starring alongside Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.
He joined the academy from Burnley as a teenager and was originally a forward.
