Kaos star Aurora Perrineau teases that a season 2 renewal announcement may be imminent. The modernized, dark comedy retelling of Greek mythology features Perrineau as the human Eurydice, known as Riddy, as she becomes entangled in a brewing rebellion against the deeply insecure and tyrannical Zeus (Jeff Goldblum). Kaos season 1’s ending provides satisfying payoffs for Riddy, Zeus, and the other characters, while also setting up many storylines for a potential season 2.
Perrineau has now hinted that Kaos season 2 will soon be officially announced while encouraging audiences to continue streaming the series on Netflix. Check out her post below:
She acknowledges the challenge of investing in a new series at a time when many, including Netflix’s Dead Boy Detectives, have been canceled. Nevertheless, she emphasizes that boycotting Netflix will not help a series continue or be revived, and that the best thing to do is to continue watching series on the streaming platform to demonstrate significant audience interest and demand.
What This Means For Kaos Season 2
Kaos Is One Netflix That Won’t Be Prematurely Canceled
Perrineau’s comments are a highly encouraging sign that Kaos season 2 is going to happen and will be confirmed soon. From Dead Boys Detectives to 1899, too many compelling Netflix series have been canceled in recent years after a single season. It is a relief that Kaos seemingly will not be falling suit and that there will be more clever retellings of Greek myths in Kaos season 2, including what is next for Riddy, Zeus, and the other humans and gods.
Since its August 29 debut, Kaos has been in Netflix’s global top 10 most-watched series every week. Having consistently high viewership for an entire month demonstrates the series’ ability to remain popular even as Netflix adds new series to watch every week. This should be enough to prove to Netflix that it is a story many subscribers want to see continue. The official Kaos season 2 renewal announcement may come in October, after the series has been on Netflix for more than a month, and this timing would align with Perrineau saying there will be news soon.
Kaos Is Already Set Up Well For Season 2
With Kaos being one of my favorite series of 2024, I am thrilled that season 2 is poised to be confirmed soon. Kaos left tantalizing mysteries and unanswered questions that need to be further explored in one of the best reimaginings of Greek mythology that I have ever seen. The series already has an extensive mythical scope featuring Olympus, the Underworld, and Earth, and with countless Greek myths left to adapt, Kaos has the potential to continue its story not only for season 2, but for many additional seasons as well.
