Patched-up Rebirth Island returns to Warzone alongside XP buffs

A small but significant update has just hit Call of Duty Warzone that contains some very welcome buffs. Following its rather embarrassing false start earlier in the week, Rebirth Island has also been re-added back into the shooter’s playlist.

Rebirth Island will forever be one of the best maps in Call of Duty Warzone – one that fans will always yearn for when it gets shifted out of the battle royale game’s rotation. On Monday, November 18, it returned after a considerable stint on the sidelines, but it was unfortunately plagued with audio bugs and graphics issues. The map was in such a bad state, Raven Software completely removed Rebirth after just three hours.

Three days later, Rebirth Island is all patched up and ready to go and is now back in the Warzone playlist. “A number of lighting and audio adjustments have been made to improve gameplay,” a new set of patch notes reads.

While not exactly an apology for Rebirth’s rough relaunch, Raven does at least show its appreciation for fans who have been waiting for the map to come back. “Thank you for your patience these last few days as we’ve worked to bring Rebirth Island back to the Warzone playlist! We wanted to take the necessary time to address key issues and make improvements to ensure the best possible experience,” the developer says. Rebirth’s (hopefully bug-free) return is already good news, but there are some other exciting changes hidden within today’s patch.

XP gain rates have been buffed, which is never a bad thing. In Plunder and traditional battle royale modes, player XP has been increased. In Plunder and Resurgence, weapon XP has increased. So, no matter which mode you play, at least one of your XP tracks is going to be progressing at a quicker rate than it was before.

Stims have also been given a buff thanks to an increase of the duration of the speed boost you get – it’s gone from one second to three seconds. Explaining this decision, Raven says: “Upon the launch of Warzone, we identified a critical issue and, in response, temporarily reduced both the speed increase and the duration of Stim Shots while we worked on a solution.” This reverses that reduction to make Stims much more viable.

There are also some other small balance tweaks and bug fixes that you can read from the official patch notes here.
