The NBA needs to fix the All-Star Game.

It’s been a long while since the players cared or even tried, up to the point where some fans even urged the league to shut down the event and call it a day.

That’s why several players, including Stephen Curry, have been in talks with the league to salvage the once-great event.

According to a report by Shams Charania of ESPN, the league will implement a four-team tournament-style All-Star Game.

It’ll feature two semifinal games up to 40 points, with both winners advancing.

Then, the final game will be up to 25 points.

Charania adds that this will give the event a “quick-burst competition, pickup ball-esque.”

Of course, that will only work so long as the players want to play.

No one wants to compete anymore, even though it’s been extremely odd to see an injury in any of those games.

Players used to take pride in competing hard in this game.

They used to pride themselves on dominating the opposing conference and actually proving to be the best of the best.

Now, All-Star Games have become never-ending layup lines and three-point shootouts, and the product has gotten exponentially less exciting and competitive by the year.

Hopefully, this will finally bring life back to an event that was sometimes the highlight of a season.
