Judge John Holcomb has accepted the claim by Heredia’s lawyer Eric Montalvo that Kinahan and MTK used cartel drug money to fund the poaching of boxer Joseph Diaz
A treasure hunt for assets concealed by Daniel Kinahan around the world has begun – after a US judge formally ordered the cartel boss and now defunct boxing agency MTK to pay damages of €8.7 million (US$9.7 million) to rival boxing promoter Moses Heredia.
In making the order, which brings to an end a four-year court battle in the US, Judge John Holcomb has accepted the claim by Heredia’s lawyer Eric Montalvo that Kinahan and MTK used cartel drug money to fund the poaching of boxer Joseph Diaz from Heredia’s stable.
