Actor Jake Gyllenhaal Fronts Second Chapter Ginori 1735 Campaign

JAKE’S TABLE: Kering-owned tableware and ceramics maker Ginori 1735 said Friday it is rolling out the second chapter of its campaign fronted by actor Jake Gyllenhaal. The campaign is set in Doccia, Tuscany, at Villa Ginori, which was the home of the Marquis Carlo Andrea Ginori, who founded the first Ginori porcelain factory almost 300 years ago.

The company released a series of photos lensed by photographer Cedric Buchet that show Gyllenhaal lounging barefoot around the Tuscan home, reading a book, sitting with his dog. A video shot in the same location shows the actor in the same light, picking flowers in the garden and setting the table with Oriente Italiano exotic floral plates, this time in two new colors: Castagna (Chestnut) and Meringa (Meringue).

“By depicting moments of personal reflection and moments of conviviality, the campaign explores the freedom to express oneself and live at one’s own pace, enhancing the continuous search for art in everyday life,” Ginori said in a statement.

Amid the first chapter of the ad campaign revealed in April of last year, Alain Prost, chairman and chief executive officer of Ginori 1735, said the actor has been a longtime fan of the brand, and described him as “a great master of his art, with a strong personal style,” who “naturally embodies a timeless elegance and class that flawlessly express the perfect blend between heritage and innovation of our house.”

At the time, Gyllenhaal said the partnership aimed to express the importance of slowing down, enjoying life and appreciating the beauty of art. On Friday, he echoed that sentiment.

“Filming in the beautiful Villa Ginori, with its rich heritage, was an incredible experience. Ginori 1735 is an invitation to immerse yourself in the beauty of creativity at the table, and the atmosphere of Villa Ginori reflects this idea. Every piece created by the maison can transform moments of everyday life into a creative expression,” Gyllenhaal added.

Elsewhere, the Oscar-nominated actor’s advertising partnerships have worked in tandem with his passions. In 2021, he signed on to be the face of Prada’s Prada Luna Rossa Ocean fragrance rolled out in August 2021. Luna Rossa is the name of the Italian sailing team owned by Prada Group’s Patrizio Bertelli. He also fronted the Prada Linea Rossa spring 2023 eyewear campaign. The campaign was photographed by Norbert Schoerner.

Ginori 1735 refers to the 18th-century origins of the company, when the Marquis Carlo Andrea Ginori launched the future Manifattura di Doccia in the villa of the family estate. Formerly called Richard Ginori, for 286 years its artisans have been producing luxury porcelain tableware and other elements for the home, partnering with artists and luxury brands, in recent years for example with Saint LaurentEtro and Buccellati, and artists Luke Edward Hall and Paolo Stella.
